Professional Training

In the context of vocational training, the International Institute for the Wines of Champagne provides two modules for small groups based on understanding and tasting the wines of the Champagne region.

These 2 day training courses are mainly aimed at professionals within the wine-producing sector whose jobs require them to have an excellent understanding of Champagne, but they are also intended for all those who deal with wine on a daily basis: restaurant owners, hotelkeepers, cellarmen...

 Module 1 : "Understanding Champagne"

The module is divided into the 5 following themes: history, economics, vineyards, production and business to business.

Module 2: "Tasting the wines of the Champagne region"

The module is based on the discovery of different tastes, vital to all professionals within the Champagne region.

Every aspect of the different types of wine is dealt with, from the perception of the different aromas and flavours, to wine tasting itself under the theme "The words to describe them".

 Programs

Initial Training

The International Institute for the Wine of Champagne, partner of the Reims Champagne-Ardenne University, is the perfect institution for all initial training in connection with the wine and food industries.

These future professionals who regularly have to receive further training in Champagne which meets their expectations, are provided with full and pertinent teaching at the Villa Bissinger (Hotel schools, Diploma from the IWO [International Vine and Wine Office], specialized Master's degrees).

Many schools and universities, sometimes of very different natures, already look to us to organise stays which are perfectly adapted to meet the requirements of each training course.

Discussions concerning wine-production rights

Each year the Institute organises a one day top-level seminar dealing with legal questions relating to the world of wine. The very best specialists, professionals and academics deal with issues encountered by lawyers or those involved in the wine-production sector.

The first discussion dealing with "The right to plant vines" took place on 9th June 1999.

Programs are only provided in french.

Themes:
  • June 9th 1999 : "Les droits de plantation de la vigne".
  • December 14th 2000 : "La transmission de l'entreprise viticole : points d'actualités".
  • December 6th 2001 : "Les locations viticoles".
